An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Thursday, repeating until August 17, 2017
The Defensive Pistol League is open to all and will promote improved marksmanship and defensive shooting techniques for the casual and advanced shooter alike! Proper handgun safety and familiarization is necessary, but no prior pistol competition experience is required. Come test your skills in a fun, safe competition environment!
The course of fire for the defensive pistol league has been designed around and is a blend of common defensive shooting techniques, and law enforcement and military standards. The concept is to promote defensive shooting in a friendly setting while challenging the shooter to grow their skills. Each stage is done from a static location and includes multiple shooting techniques, drawing from the holster, reloading, rapid and slow fire, and different shooting distances. During the league, competitors will receive tips and guidance to promote shooter performance.
Matches will be fired each week of scheduled league shooting. The registration fee is for all 6 weeks (July 13th – August 17th). Individuals may “shoot ahead” or “make-up” matches as desired as long as all matches are completed by the last scheduled week of competition.
There will be a free informational meeting offered on June 29th, 2017 at 5:30pm and 7:00pm for all who wish to walk through league rules and the course of fire, just ask questions and receive general information.
This is a 50 round course of fire that will be shot on the SB-2 target. All strings are shot starting from the holster unless otherwise stated.
