Silver Eagle Group partners with top experts in the field of Violence Dynamics to present a unique two-part, 8 hour, training experience. The course begins with the human response to stress, understanding the natural physiological reaction when threatened, how that affects our response and how we can understand and control the impact of these effects. The second portion of the day will be dedicated to Active Shooter Response training. The class will start with lecture and discussion, progress to practical application and culminate with full profile exercises.
Morning session: Violence Dynamics
The morning session is an in-depth examination of the physiological and psychological effects of a crisis situation on the body, and how those effects can impact both the attacker and the victim. Your reaction to any situation will be based on your prior education, experience, training and planning. With a limited understanding of the physiological effects of stress, with no prior consideration of how that will affect your actions, you can easily become a victim. The person who is empowered with knowledge, has thought through their plan, engaged in training and preparedness, will react definitely and rationally. This training provides an opportunity to understand how your own body reacts in a high-stress situation and how you can best overcome your limitations to control your response. We will examine the human brain and its role in determining your reaction, your memory of a stressful situation, and your outcome in a violent encounter, and how applying that knowledge can effectively change your reaction to a violent, high-stress event.
Afternoon session: Active Shooter Response:
Successful completion of the morning session, Violence Dynamics, is required to take this session.
The 4-hour afternoon session focuses on Active Shooter training and creates an environment of education, discussion, planning and execution. We will address prior active shooter events, lessons learned and discover how you can apply those experiences to control your reaction and overcome a violent encounter. We will analyze the “Run, Hide and Fight” philosophy, covering each aspect in-depth. We will discuss preparation, improvisation and reaction to an Active Shooter event. We will then run scenarios, putting the students in stressful situations and analyze the outcome, addressing each student’s ability to apply their training and conflict communications to the situation.
By the end of the training, you will be equipped with the understanding of your body’s natural instinct to defend itself, to use that reaction to your benefit, assess the situation, prioritize your actions, and to defend yourself during a violent encounter. To conclude the course, you will apply proper mindset and techniques to remain calm, assess the situation, adapt, and create a clear plan of action, while you react to a simulated crisis. Facing role players you will confront a dynamic active shooter situation and effectively control your outcome.
After the classroom portion concludes, catered lunch will be provided by SEG before the second portion of the day begins. Preorders will be taken prior to the day of the course.
