DESCRIPTION:** U.S. FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES YOU TO BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT TO TAKE THIS CLASS. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW A VALID FORM OF CITIZENSHIP ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS ** \nThis course focuses on the laws governing concealed carry in Virginia to include Justifiable Force and Individual Protective Rights. Our instructors also provide you with a complete overview of the basics of managing unknown contact\, basic shooting skills\, situational awareness\, and equipment/clothing considerations. This course meets the Virginia state requirements and includes classroom instruction and live fire range drills. The course is taught by a Nationally Certified instructor. The Concealed Handgun Permit Course will give you the foundation you need to understand your rights\, Virginia law and the basic responsibilities of carrying a concealed handgun. \nCost: $150.00 \nParticipants: 12 Students Ages 18 and Up \nDuration: 4 hours \nAmmunition Requirements: 50 rounds \nRequired Gear: Pistol\, eye protection\, and ear protection. \nAll equipment\, to include handguns\, is available for rent at SEG. Students 21 years and over may rent handguns and purchase handgun ammunition. \nRecommended Gear: Pen and Paper \nSkills Prerequisites: Basic handgun skills.This course does not teach you how to shoot. \nValid forms of US Citizenship Identification: Voter Registration Card\, Passport\, Birth Certificate\, Certificate of Naturalization.

Building on the fundamentals derived from previous training\, this intermediate-level class focuses on developing the speed\, efficiency\, and confidence needed to operate a shotgun effectively in a defensive context. \nThrough a combination of exercises\, students will reinforce fundamental skills while working through progressive drills designed to challenge their ability to manage the shotgun under stress. Training includes speed reloads\, ammunition management\, slug and buckshot change-overs\, shooting from cover and concealment\, alternate shooting positions\, multiple-target engagement\, malfunction remediation\, retention shooting\, and shooting while moving. \nCombining each of the topics covered\, the course concludes with a culmination exercise designed to allow the student to apply their new skills in a dynamic environment and provide feedback to enhance their learning experience. \nThis is not a beginner course. Prior shotgun experience and completion of SEG’s Introduction to Shotgun\, Core Shotgun Development\, or equivalent course are required. \nAreas Covered: \n\nSafety\nSpeed reloads\nAmmunition management\nSlug and buckshot change-overs\nShooting from cover and concealment\nAlternate shooting positions\nMultiple target engagement\nMalfunction remediation\nRetention shooting\nShooting while moving\n\nCost: $225 \nParticipants: 6 Students Ages 18 and Up \n7 hours – Two (2) 3.5-hour sessions broken out over one (1) week \nAmmunition Requirements: 15 rounds of slugs + 150 rounds of buckshot (birdshot is not permitted). 2 3/4 inch low-recoil shells are recommended but not required. \nRequired Gear: Shotgun\, eye protection\, and ear protection. Please note that all shotguns must have sights and stock.
