Active Shooter Response

** U.S. FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES YOU TO BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT TO TAKE THIS CLASS. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW A FORM OF CITIZENSHIP ON THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS **

The 3.5-hour evening session focuses on Active Shooter training and creates an environment of education, discussion, planning and execution. We will address prior active shooter events, lessons learned and discover how you can apply those experiences to control your reaction and overcome a violent encounter. We will analyze the “Run, Hide and Fight” philosophy, covering each aspect in-depth. We will discuss preparation, improvisation and reaction to an Active Shooter event. We will then run scenarios, putting the students in stressful situations and analyze the outcome, addressing each student’s ability to apply their training and conflict communications to the situation.

By the end of the training, you will be equipped with the understanding of your body’s natural instinct to defend itself, to use that reaction to your benefit, assess the situation, prioritize your actions, and to defend yourself during a violent encounter. To conclude the course, you will apply proper mindset and techniques to remain calm, assess the situation, adapt, and create a clear plan of action, while you react to a simulated crisis. Facing role players you will confront a dynamic active shooter situation and effectively control your outcome.​

There are no firearms, ammunition, or other weapons allowed during training.
