TRANSFERS
Do you need to transfer a gun from an online or private party purchase? We can take care of that.
PRICING
Transfer fees are just $40 for non-members and a discounted $25 for members.
The transfer fee for any NFA item is $150 per serial number.
The Virginia State Police background check fee is $2 for a Virginia resident, or $5 for a non-resident.
COPIES OF OUR FFL
SEG only accepts firearm transfer shipments from other licensed dealers, not from private individuals. Once the firearm is purchased, a copy of our FFL can be requested by the seller or the buyer by emailing retail@silvereaglegroup.com. SEG will send our FFL (and SOT if applicable) only to the dealer that is shipping the firearm.
Buyers do not need to inform Silver Eagle Group in advance that a transfer shipment is coming.
PICKING UP YOUR TRANSFER
Once the firearm has arrived and has been processed, our staff will contact the buyer to schedule a pick-up appointment. Due to a high volume of incoming firearms, please allow 24 to 72 hours for processing. Even if tracking information indicates the firearm has been delivered to SEG, please wait until a staff member informs you that it’s ready for pick-up.

OUTGOING TRANSFERS
Outgoing shipment are subject to transfer fees plus the actual cost of shipping, payable by the person dropping off the firearm for shipment. Shipping fees vary by weight, dimensions, and destination.
STORAGE FEES
Transfers not picked up within 30 days of delivery are subject to a weekly $20 storage fee in addition to the transfer fee.
Transfers not picked up within 90 days are considered abandoned and will be disposed at SEG’s discretion. Unless prior arrangements have been made, such as deployed military, firearms left abandoned on premise for greater than 90 days will be sold to recover storage fees.
NFA transfers for which the buyer does not schedule a Form 4 appointment within 30 days of delivery are subject to the weekly $20 storage fee until the Form 4 appointment is completed.
Approved Form 4’s that are not picked up within 30 days are subject to the weekly $20 storage fee until 90 days, after which the Form 4 will be cancelled and the NFA item will be sold by SEG to recover fees.
By having your firearm(s) shipped to us, you agree to this policy.
IDENTIFICATION
The person who orders the firearm online must be the person who picks up the firearm and completes the paperwork.
Please bring the appropriate identification to the front desk for your pickup appointment. You will need a current (unexpired) valid (not VOIDED) government-issued photo identification document.
Example: driver’s license.
If your photo ID does not list your current residence, supplemental government-issued documentation is required to confirm your residence.
Example: Concealed Handgun Permit, Voter Registration Card, Virginia Motor Vehicle Registration.
If you are not a Virginia resident, you will provide one photo-identification form issued by a governmental agency of your state of residence, plus one other documentation of residence that contains an address identical to that shown on the photo-identification form.
The following secondary forms of ID are determined acceptable for non-residents:
1. A current lease.
2. Evidence of currently paid personal property tax or real estate tax.
3. A current utility or telephone bill.
4. A current voter registration card.
5. A current automobile registration.
6. A current hunting or fishing license.
Active-Duty Military personnel stationed in Virginia are eligible to purchase firearms as Virginia residents, and may bring their military photo-identification card issued by the United States Department of Defense, plus:
1. Permanent orders assigning the purchaser to a Virginia duty post, including the Pentagon, OR
2. Leave and Earning Statement withe a Virginia residence address.
BACKGROUND CHECKS
Background checks are only initiated in connection with a purchase/transfer. You must be a Virginia resident and at least 21 years old to undergo a background check for any handgun, revolver, frame, or lower receiver — anything that is not a shotgun or a rifle.
Persons aged 18-20, and those who are not Virginia residents, may purchase/transfer a shotgun or rifle only.
