Being aware of your surroundings and making sound decisions quickly are critical skills for anyone who carries a firearm. Having a plan, knowing what you are protecting and what your life is worth are key responsibilities. But, when confronted, when all doesn’t go according to plan, how will you react? As you have chosen to carry a firearm to protect yourself and your loved ones, your introduction to stress brought on by physical violence shouldn’t be during a real-life encounter. To that end, SEG has created a scenario-based course designed around confrontation management, awareness and avoidance.

This course is scenario-driven, putting the student’s situational awareness and reactions to the test in a real-world environment. The scenarios are designed to allow the student to be tested in various settings, taking the confrontation through the full cycle from recognition and avoidance to reaction and completion. We will start by covering recognizing and identifying potential danger, avoidance, control techniques, and the force continuum, before putting the student through muggings, carjacking, attacks, and general confrontation scenarios.

During the scenarios, the student will be expected to detect and avoid situations when possible or apply the appropriate amount of force to achieve the desired end result of stopping the threat, up to and including the use of deadly force. By the end of the course, the student should recognize, and later, articulate if and how their attacker presented the capability, intent, and opportunity to cause death or great bodily harm, and justify the actions they took in response to the perceived threat. Knowing when and how to manage unknown or unwanted contact will become the difference between drawing your firearm before it is necessary or drawing after it is too late.

Concealed Carry Live is for anyone who wants to test their skills, learn from their mistakes and be more self-assured when carrying concealed.
