Concealed Handgun Course (Virginia CHP)

** U.S. FEDERAL LAW REQUIRES YOU TO BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR PERMANENT RESIDENT TO TAKE THIS CLASS. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SHOW A FORM OF CITIZENSHIP ON THEDAY OF CLASS **

This course focuses on the laws governing concealed carry in Virginia to include Justifiable Force and Individual Protective Rights. Our instructors also provide you with a complete overview of the basics of managing unknown contact, basic shooting skills, situational awareness, and equipment/clothing considerations. This course meets the Virginia state requirements and includes classroom instruction and live fire range drills. The course is taught by a Nationally Certified instructor. The Concealed Handgun Course will give you the foundation you need to understand your rights, Virginia law and the basic responsibilities of carrying a concealed handgun.

Ammunition Requirements: 50 rounds

Required Gear: Pistol, eye protection, and ear protection.

All equipment, to include handguns, is available for rent at SEG. Students 21 years and over may rent handguns and purchase handgun ammunition.

Recommended Gear: Pen and Paper

Skill Prerequisites: Basic handgun skills. This course does not teach you how to shoot.

Valid forms of Citizenship Identification: Voter Registration Card, Passport, Birth Certificate, Certificate of Naturalization
