Introduction to Handguns

This is our introductory handgun course that provides an excellent overview to the world of firearms, and is perfect for the first-time owner or new shooter. This course is a great way for people who are new to handguns, just want a refresher, or desire an understanding of the fundamentals, to develop their skills in a fun, safe environment. Our certified instructors will cover safe firearm handling procedures, general handgun knowledge, the fundamentals of marksmanship, as well as the proper care and storage of firearms. This class will deliver a solid foundation to build upon and give beginners the skills they need to become responsible, confident shooters.

Concealed Handgun Course (Virginia CHP)

This course focuses on the laws governing concealed carry in Virginia to include Justifiable Force and Individual Protective Rights. Our instructors also provide you with a complete overview of the basics of managing unknown contact, basic shooting skills, situational awareness, and equipment/clothing considerations. This course meets the Virginia state requirements and includes classroom instruction and live fire range drills. The course is taught by a Nationally Certified instructor. The Concealed Handgun Permit Course will give you the foundation you need to understand your rights, Virginia law and the basic responsibilities of carrying a concealed handgun.

Core Pistol Development

In order to master anything, one must first master the fundamentals. This is a 7-hour course devoted to building the foundation from which your marksmanship skills will grow. You will leave understanding the core principles of shooting and how to properly apply them.  We will teach you to self-diagnose, identify problem areas and make immediate corrections to avoid engraining bad habits and improper marksmanship techniques.  Whether you are new to shooting and looking to build confidence through skills development, or a seasoned shooter looking to enhance your skills, Core Pistol Development is a great course for you.

This class is the first step in the building block process for our Defensive Firearms Series for Pistols. This course is designed to ground our students in the fundamentals of shooting; to master anything, one must first master the fundamentals. During the training you will develop the skills you need to be a proficient shooter, while learning to excel in the mechanical manipulation of your firearm. The course will focus on your safety, mindset, immediate and remedial action, round placement, target acquisition and self-confidence.

This class is the second step in the building block process in our Defensive Firearms Series for pistol. This course is designed to take students who have successfully completed our Level 1 course and drive their defensive shooting capabilities to the next level. The class focuses on safety, practical defensive shooting, shot progression, multiple target engagement, alternative shooting positions, shooting while moving, target acquisition/discrimination, hard pointing, defensive pistol challenge, and above all – self-confidence.

This course is designed to advance our students’ capabilities with the shotgun in a more dynamic environment. An environment that will test the students’ current abilities while strengthening their competence and confidence in a defensive situation with the shotgun. Students will participate in numerous dry / live fire exercises, timed scenarios, and a series of progressive drills to enhance their proficiency and their ability to run the gun.

Low Light Defensive Pistol

This course is designed to introduce the dynamics of fighting with a gun in a low to no light situation. Most predators seem to use darkness to attack their prey. They view darkness as a cover, asset, and weapon against those who they would turn into a victim. This is why most of violent encounters happen in the dark. It is our goal to give you the skills to face whatever situation or threat that may present itself. The defense minded individual should know that the odds that they might have to defend themselves or their loved ones in a low or no light situation are extremely high.

Join us for a special 2-hour session dedicated to the very thing people crave: competition. This class builds on the groundwork laid in Level 1 Dynamic Entry & Room Clearing. We have set the baseline for problem solving through foundational principles that allow repeatable results through the basic fundamental understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures – simple, repeatable and easily duplicated under stress. Through the continued application of those guiding principles, Level 2 Dynamic Entry & Room Clearing enforces, builds and enhances the students ability to overcome the challenges faced while conducting clear and recovery tactics.

The 3.5-hour evening session focuses on Active Shooter training and creates an environment of education, discussion, planning and execution.
